Privacy was never been a thing of concern than it is now; and smartphone industry has set to make it a deal of market. Blackphone (surveillance-thwarting), a brainchild project of Phil Zimmermann’s company Silent Circle and a Spanish startup Geeksphone, is going to help you the popular NSA spying and make your calls, messages and chats encrypted so that even NSA would not able to make it open.
zimmermann says the Blackphone will offer users “everything they need to ensure privacy and control of their communications, along with all the other high-end smartphone features they have come to expect.”
Blackphone will come with a secure version of Android OS named PrivatOS, with unlocked mode and can be used for any GSM carrier around the world. It will allow you to make and receive secure phone calls, exchange secure texts, transfer and store files, and video chat without compromising privacy on the device using Virtual Private Network (VPN).
“I have spent my whole career working towards the launch of secure telephony products”, said Zimmermann.
On February 24, 2014 Blackphone will be launched in World Mobile Congress in Barcelona. It will be open for preorder. Details about the price of the phone are not revealed yet.
Before founding Silent Circle, Zimmermann rose to popularity by developing the encryption standard for Email. The Silent Circle company have focused working on Encrypted Telecommunications.
How Zimmermann and his Team will succeed in achieving their goals; but smartphone industry is going to boom with a new feature called NSA-proof is sure.
